God is not only the center of our life and our relationship but also our work with horses.
You can Google “horse training” and find a thousand trainers who will break your horse your horse, “cowboying” him into submission, and sure that may make you a horse that will listen and do because he has to.
Have you ever seen someone who brings God into it? Someone who’s objective is to build trust and a mutual respect?
It’s really pretty amazing, and it makes a different kind of horse, one who trusts you, who wants to work with you.
You may be wondering what God has to do with this –
God gave us free will. There’s a big difference in us just going through the motions or being forced to learn His word or do for Him.
It’s not going to be real until we submit to Him because we chose to, because we want to honor and glorify Him, because we want to be saved.
But we have to be open to listening to Him, to hearing Him.
Horses are bigger than us, stronger than us, they really don’t have to do anything we ask them to. Yes, we can make them, but it makes a much nicer horse when the submit because they trust you, when they work with you because they want to.
That’s what Kevin does here, not only that, he brings God into his horsemanship, into his training, into building and developing his relationship with the horses.
It’s really pretty amazing.
If you have a colt or a young horse that you’re struggling with and would like some information on his work with horses, please don’t hesitate to ask.
